Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Marine Sample may store and how it is used.

Draft notice: this page is a practical starter policy for the app. It should be reviewed by a qualified professional before public commercial use.

1. Information Stored

Marine Sample may store account email addresses, vessel details, machinery details, sample records, lab references, uploaded report files and app preferences.

2. How Information Is Used

Information is used to run the dashboard, show machinery history, display red/amber/green sample condition, create trend graphs, manage reports and provide account support.

3. Uploaded Files

Uploaded PDFs and images are stored so they can be opened, downloaded, attached to samples and referenced in printable reports.

4. Payment Details

The current local development version records billing information entered in Settings for demonstration purposes. Full production payment handling should use a secure payment provider and should not store full card details directly.

5. Access Control

The app is designed so each signed-in user can only see their own vessel, machinery and sample data. Demo/local fallback data may be used in development if an account has no saved samples.

6. Data Sharing

Marine Sample should not sell user data. Data may only be shared where needed to provide the service, comply with law, or support the user.

7. Data Retention

Records may be kept while the account remains active. Users may request deletion of vessel and machinery records from within the app where available.

8. Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures should be used to protect data. Users should protect their passwords and avoid uploading sensitive data they do not need to store.
